Hari’s Special Mercy, Śiva’s Quick Boons, and the Deliverance from Vṛkāsura
This verse shows that boons gained without purity and devotion can become self-destructive—Vṛkāsura is urged to test the boon on himself, revealing the peril of demonic intent.
To expose the truth of the situation and avert immediate danger—by prompting Vṛkāsura to ‘verify’ the boon on himself, the threat to Śiva is neutralized within the narrative’s divine arrangement.
Power or “advantages” pursued without ethics can backfire; test your intentions and consequences before acting, and seek blessings with humility rather than exploitation.
