Ūṣā-Haraṇa, Bāṇāsura’s Pride, and Aniruddha’s Capture
Prelude to Hari–Śaṅkara Conflict
This verse shows a devotee offering humble obeisances to Mahādeva as the lord and teacher of the worlds, praising his lotus feet as capable of granting the desired results to those who approach him.
In the narrative of Canto 10, Chapter 62 (the Bāṇāsura episode connected with Kṛṣṇa’s līlā), Bāṇāsura turns to his worshipable lord, Śiva, offering praise and seeking refuge and support.
The verse models humility: acknowledge a higher guide, offer respectful surrender, and seek fulfillment through devotion rather than ego-driven striving.
