यस्यानुरागललितस्मितवल्गुमन्त्र- लीलावलोकपरिरम्भणरासगोष्ठाम् । नीता: स्म न: क्षणमिव क्षणदा विना तं गोप्य: कथं न्वतितरेम तमो दुरन्तम् ॥ २९ ॥

For the gopīs, a long time in Kṛṣṇa’s association passed like a moment, and a single moment in His absence seemed like a very long time.

This verse shows that separation from Kṛṣṇa feels like “unbearable darkness,” because His smiles, words, glances, embraces, and rāsa pastimes were the very life of the gopīs; without Him, they feel unable to endure or “cross over” that darkness.

Uddhava came as Kṛṣṇa’s messenger to Vraja; the gopīs reveal the intensity of their love and the pain of His absence, emphasizing that only Kṛṣṇa—remembered through His līlās and qualities—can dispel their suffering.

When life feels dark or overwhelming, consciously remember and engage with Kṛṣṇa through His names, stories, and qualities; sustained remembrance (smaraṇa) transforms inner despair into devotion-centered endurance.
