Parīkṣit’s Questions and the Prelude to Kṛṣṇa’s Advent
Earth’s Burden, Viṣṇu’s Order, and Kaṁsa’s Fear
This verse states that after completing the marriage rites, Vasudeva (Śauri) departed and mounted the chariot together with Devakī, marking the start of the chain of events leading to Krishna’s advent.
‘Śauri’ is an epithet indicating Vasudeva’s lineage as a descendant of Śūra (Yadu dynasty connection). The Bhāgavatam uses such lineage-names to situate characters within the sacred dynastic history.
Even ordinary life transitions—like travel and family duties—can be understood as part of a larger divine plan; devotees can cultivate faith that providence works through everyday moments.
