Satī Desires to Attend Dakṣa’s Sacrifice; Śiva Warns Against the Pain of Relatives’ Insults
tan me prasīdedam amartya vāñchitaṁ kartuṁ bhavān kāruṇiko batārhati tvayātmano ’rdhe ’ham adabhra-cakṣuṣā nirūpitā mānugṛhāṇa yācitaḥ
This verse shows Sati praying with humility and faith, appealing to Shiva’s compassion and asking him to fulfill her sincere desire—highlighting that grace is sought through earnest, respectful petition.
Sati addresses Shiva as the compassionate immortal and reminds him that he has accepted her as his own half; she therefore asks him to kindly grant her request within the unfolding Daksha-yajna narrative.
Approach mentors, elders, or the Divine with humility, clarity of intention, and gratitude—grounding requests in sincerity rather than entitlement.
