Matsya-avatāra: The Lord as Fish Saves the Vedas and Guides Satyavrata
Śrīla Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura gives his verdict that Satyavrata appeared in the Cākṣuṣa- manvantara. When the Cākṣuṣa- manvantara ended, the period of Vaivasvata Manu began. By the grace of Lord Viṣṇu, Satyavrata received instructions from the second fish incarnation and was thus enlightened in all spiritual knowledge.
Satyavrata was a righteous king who, by Lord Viṣṇu’s mercy, became Vaivasvata Manu in this kalpa.
Jñāna refers to scriptural/spiritual knowledge, and vijñāna refers to realized, lived understanding—knowledge confirmed by experience and devotion.
Cultivate both learning (jñāna) and sincere practice (vijñāna), while depending on Viṣṇu’s grace—spiritual advancement matures through disciplined effort blessed by divine mercy.
