Matsya-avatāra: The Lord as Fish Saves the Vedas and Guides Satyavrata
नूनं त्वं भगवान् साक्षाद्धरिर्नारायणोऽव्यय: । अनुग्रहाय भूतानां धत्से रूपं जलौकसाम् ॥ २७ ॥
nūnaṁ tvaṁ bhagavān sākṣād dharir nārāyaṇo ’vyayaḥ anugrahāya bhūtānāṁ dhatse rūpaṁ jalaukasām
Quả thật Ngài chính là Bhagavān, Śrī Hari Nārāyaṇa bất hoại. Vì lòng thương xót muôn loài, Ngài nay nhận lấy hình tướng thủy sinh.
This verse explains that the Lord assumes specific forms—here, an aquatic form—out of mercy (anugraha) for all beings, to protect and guide them.
Because Satyavrata recognized the extraordinary fish as the Supreme Lord Himself—imperishable Nārāyaṇa—appearing directly to bestow protection and grace.
Practice seeing divine guidance in unexpected situations and cultivate gratitude and surrender, trusting that the Lord’s compassion reaches beings in whatever condition they are in.
