संवत्सरस्य प्रतिमां यां त्वा रात्र्युपास्महे । सा न आयुष्मतीं प्रजां रायस्पोषेण सं सृज

IAST Transliteration

saṁvatsarásya pratímāṁ yā́m tvā rātri upāsmáhe | sā́ na ā́yuṣmatīṁ prajā́ṁ rāyás póṣeṇa sáṁ sṛja ||

English Translation (Griffith/Whitney)

The counterpart of the Year, thee, Night, we reverently attend: do thou for us bring forth life-laden offspring, with wealth’s increase and thriving joined thereto.

Translation

Hỡi Đêm, hình đối ứng của Năm (saṃvatsara), chúng ta kính cẩn phụng thờ ngươi. Xin ngươi tạo dựng cho chúng ta con cháu đầy sinh lực và thọ mệnh, kèm theo sự tăng trưởng của của cải và thịnh vượng.
