Sukta 16
हिमेव पर्णा मुषिता वनानि बृहस्पतिनाकृपयद् वलो गाः । अनानुकृत्यमपुनश्चकार यात् सूर्यामासा मिथ उच्चरातः
hím eva párṇā muṣitā́ vánāni bṛ́haspátinā́kṛpayad való gā́ḥ | anānukṛ́tyam apúnaś cakāra yā́t sū́ryāmā́sā mithá úccarātaḥ ||
As though the frost had reft the forests of their leaves, so Vala wronged the cows; but by Bṛhaspati they found relief. A deed unmatchable he wrought anew—when Sun and Moon rise up, each in his turn.
Như băng giá giật mất lá của rừng cây, Vala cũng làm hại đàn bò như thế; nhưng nhờ Bṛhaspati, chúng được giải thoát. Ngài làm mới một việc không gì sánh được—khi Mặt Trời và Mặt Trăng lần lượt mọc, thay phiên nhau.
