शान्तिः। उषा अप स्वसुस्तमः सं वर्तयति वर्तनिं सुजातता । अया वाजं देवहितं सनेम मदेम शतहिमाः सुवीराः

IAST Transliteration

śā́ntiḥ | uṣā́ apá svasús támaḥ sáṃ vartayati vartaníṃ sujā́tatā | ayā́ vā́jaṃ deváhitaṃ sanéma mádema śatáhimāḥ suvī́rāḥ ||

English Translation (Griffith/Whitney)

Peace. Dawn, in happy wise, drives wholly away the darkness, and sets in motion the path of good begetting. By this may we win the prize that Gods have set, may we rejoice—living a hundred winters, rich in noble sons.

Translation

Bình an (Śāntiḥ). Bình minh (Uṣas) một cách cát tường xua tan hoàn toàn bóng tối, khiến con đường sinh thành tốt đẹp chuyển động. Nhờ đó, nguyện chúng con giành được phần thưởng chiến thắng (vāja) mà chư thần đã đặt để; nguyện chúng con hoan hỷ—sống qua trăm mùa đông, giàu có những người con trai dũng mãnh.
