Sukta 4
आ त्वाग्न इधीमहि द्युमन्तं देवाजरम्। यद् घ सा ते पनीयसी समिद् दीदयति द्यवि । इषं स्तोतृभ्य आ भर
ā́ tvā́gne idhīmahi dyumántaṃ devā́jaram | yád ghá sā́ té panī́yasī samíd dī́dayati dyávi | íṣaṃ stotṛ́bhya ā́ bhara
Hither we kindle thee, O Agni, radiant, the god that waxeth not old. For when, indeed, that thy most gracious kindling-stick blazeth in the sky, then bring thou nourishment unto the praisers.
Hỡi Agni, chúng con nhóm lên Ngài ở đây—rực sáng, vị thần không già cỗi. Quả thật, khi que củi tế (samit) khả ái nhất của Ngài bùng cháy, chiếu rạng trên trời, xin Ngài hãy đem sự nuôi dưỡng, lương thực (iṣ) đến cho những người ca tụng.
