अशिता लोकाच्छिनत्ति ब्रह्मगवी ब्रह्मज्यमस्माच्चामुष्माच्च

aśitā́ lokā́c chinátti brahma-gávī bráhma-jyam asmā́c ca amúṣmāc ca

Fasting-deprivation cuts a man off from his world; the Brahman’s cow, the Brahman’s due—(it cuts off) from this one and from that one.

Sự nhịn ăn và sự tước đoạt cắt lìa con người khỏi thế giới của mình; con bò của Bà-la-môn, phần đến hạn của Bà-la-môn—(cũng cắt lìa) khỏi đời này và khỏi đời kia.
