इत्य् आग्नेये महापुराणे आत्यन्तिकलयगर्भोत्पत्तिनिरूपणं नामाष्टष्ट्यधिकत्रिशततमो ऽध्यायः अथोनसप्तत्यधिकत्रिशततमो ऽध्यायः शरीरावयवाः अग्निर् उवाच श्रोत्रं त्वक् चक्षुषी जिह्वा घ्राणं धीः खुञ्च भूतगं शब्दस्पर्शरूपरमगन्धाः खादिषु तद्गुणाः

ity āgneye mahāpurāṇe ātyantikalayagarbhotpattinirūpaṇaṃ nāmāṣṭaṣṭyadhikatriśatatamo 'dhyāyaḥ athonasaptatyadhikatriśatatamo 'dhyāyaḥ śarīrāvayavāḥ agnir uvāca śrotraṃ tvak cakṣuṣī jihvā ghrāṇaṃ dhīḥ khuñca bhūtagaṃ śabdasparśarūparamagandhāḥ khādiṣu tadguṇāḥ

Như vậy, trong Agni Mahāpurāṇa, chương thứ 368 mang tên “Trình bày về sự phát sinh của bào thai trong thời kỳ tiêu dung tối hậu” đã kết thúc. Nay bắt đầu chương thứ 369 về “Các cơ quan của thân thể”. Agni nói: Tai, da, hai mắt, lưỡi, mũi và tâm/trí—đều liên hệ với các đại; và đối tượng/tính chất của chúng lần lượt là âm thanh, xúc chạm, sắc tướng, vị và hương, trong các cảnh giới giác quan tương ứng.
