It gives Ayurvedic Panchakarma guidance: the preferred drugs for virecana (Trivṛt) and vamana (Madanaphala), and the correct vehicles/adjuncts—oil, ghee, honey—matched to vāta, pitta, and kapha respectively.
Alongside theology and ritual, the Agni Purana preserves applied medical science: named materia medica (Trivṛt, Madana) and procedural principles (doṣa-wise anupāna selection) typical of classical Ayurveda.
Panchakarma-based purification is framed as bodily and subtle cleansing; correct elimination therapies support sāttvika health and readiness for dharma, worship, and disciplined living by reducing doṣa-driven imbalance.
