FAQs

It prescribes a specific prayoga: a homa using ghṛta (ghee) and guggulu resin, and the recitation (paṭha) of the Śastra-Pāśupata, stated to produce śānti (pacification) and success even in difficult aims.

It exemplifies the text’s practical ritual-technology—linking materials (ghee, guggulu), rite-type (homa), and mantra-recitation (Pāśupata/śastra-oriented) to concrete outcomes (śānti, obstacle-removal), showing the Purana’s coverage beyond mythology into applied mantra and śānti-karmas.

The verse frames homa and mantra-recitation as purificatory and appeasing acts that calm adverse forces and obstacles, implying merit through disciplined ritual action and devotional recitation that restores harmony (śānti).
