Pañcāṅga-Rudra-vidhāna

The Fivefold Rudra Rite

FAQs

It gives technical chandas-identification (Jagatī meter) and enumerates/manages mantra-deity groupings (Rudras, Hiraṇyavāhas), useful for correct recitation and liturgical cataloging.

Alongside ritual and theology, the Agni Purana also preserves technical disciplines like prosody (chandas) and structured enumerations of Vedic/mantric classes, showing its role as a compendium of applied sacred learning.

Correct meter and proper deity-address (namo…) are traditionally held to preserve mantra efficacy, supporting purity of recitation and the intended merit (puṇya) of Vedic-style worship.
