It teaches mantra-auṣadhi: the use of a Viṣṇu/Vāsudeva mantra (with the bīja “Hūṃ”) as a practical, protective, and therapeutic remedy—treating the mantra itself as the highest ‘medicine’ to be applied through japa (repetition).
By blending devotion (Vaiṣṇava stuti), tantric-style seed syllable usage (bīja), and a medical framing (auṣadha/remedy), it shows how the Agni Purana integrates ritual technology with healing-oriented instruction—typical of its wide-ranging, encyclopedic scope.
Recitation with homage to Vāsudeva/Viṣṇu is presented as purifying and boon-bestowing (“giver of all”), with the mantra regarded as a supreme remedy that removes obstacles and supports spiritual protection and merit through disciplined japa.
