Sanskrit recitationMaitreya Upanishad 6

tapasā prāpyate sattvaṃ sattvāt samprāpyate manaḥ | manasā prāpyate hy ātmā hy ātmāpattayā nivartate ||6||

By austerity (tapas) purity/clarity (sattva) is attained; from sattva the mind is fully attained (brought to steadiness); by the mind the Self indeed is attained; and by attainment of the Self one turns back (ceases) [from saṃsāra].

Moksha through purification of mind (sattva-śuddhi) culminating in ātma-sākṣātkāraMahavakya: Supports the epistemic requirement for realizing mahāvākyas (e.g., ‘tat tvam asi’) by emphasizing sattva-śuddhi and manonigraha as prerequisites; not itself a mahāvākya.YajurKṛṣṇa Yajurveda (Maitrāyaṇīya śākhā) ShakhaChandas: Anuṣṭubh (śloka)
