Maitreya Upanishad 28: Verse 28

मा भव ग्राह्यभावात्मा ग्राहकात्मा च मा भव ।

भावनामखिलं त्यक्त्वा यच्छिष्टं तन्मयो भव ॥२८॥

IAST Transliteration

mā bhava grāhyabhāvātmā grāhakātmā ca mā bhava |

bhāvanām akhilāṃ tyaktvā yacchiṣṭaṃ tanmayo bhava ||28||

Translation

نہ ‘گِرہیت’ (مقبوض/شے) کی فطرت اختیار کرو، اور نہ ‘گِراہک’ (قابض/فاعل) کی فطرت۔ تمام بھاونا (تصوری بُناؤ) کو چھوڑ کر، جو باقی رہ جائے اسی کے ہم رنگ ہو جاؤ۔

Academic Translation

Do not become of the nature of the ‘grasped’ (object-state); and do not become of the nature of the ‘grasper’ (subject). Having abandoned all conceptual construction (bhāvanā), become of the nature of what remains.
