Maitreya Upanishad 25: Verse 25

यन्मायया मोहितचेतसो मामात्मानमापूर्णमलब्धवन्तः । परं विदग्दोधरपूरणाय भ्रमन्ति काका इव सूरयोऽपि ॥२५॥

yan māyayā mohitacetaso mām ātmānam āpūrṇam alabdhavantaḥ | paraṃ vidagdhodarāpūraṇāya bhramanti kākā iva sūrayo 'pi ||25||

Translation

جن کے چِت مایا سے موہت ہو گئے ہیں، اور جنہوں نے مجھے—آتما، سراسر پُر اور کامل—نہیں پایا، وہ پیٹ بھرنے کی چالاکی کے لیے بھٹکتے پھرتے ہیں؛ ‘دانشور’ کہلانے والے بھی کوّوں کی مانند۔

Academic Translation

Those whose minds are deluded by māyā, not having attained Me—the Self, the all-full—wander about, even though they are ‘wise’, like crows, for the sake of filling their clever bellies.
