daitya saṃśayamasmākaṃ chettumarhasyaśeṣataḥ | durvāsasaśca kṛṣṇasya saṃbhavaḥ kathyatāmiti
Ṛṣis (sages)
Tirtha: Dvārakā (contextual)
Type: kshetra
Listener: Prahlāda (addressed as capable of resolving)
Scene: Sages with earnest faces request a complete cutting of doubt; in the background, shadowy suggestion of a Daitya figure and the austere sage Durvāsā, foreshadowing the coming narrative.
Purāṇic dharma values clarified understanding through inquiry—doubts are to be resolved by authoritative narration and remembrance of sacred history.
The narrative belongs to Dvārakā Māhātmya, where sacred history supports the greatness of Dvārakā and its divine presences.
No ritual is prescribed; the verse is an invitation to kathā-śravaṇa (hearing sacred narration).
