agastya uvāca | avimukteśa māhātmyaṃ śrāvaṃ śrāvaṃ śrutī mama | atīva suśrute jāte tathāpi na dhinomyaham
اگستیہ نے کہا: میں نے اویمُکتیش کی مہاتمیا بار بار سنی ہے؛ میری سماعت بہت پختہ ہو گئی ہے، پھر بھی میں سیر نہیں ہوتا۔
Agastya
Tirtha: Avimukteśvara (topic requested)
Type: kshetra
Listener: Skanda
Scene: Sage Agastya, composed and radiant with tapas, speaks with folded hands; his expression shows eager reverence—trained hearing yet undiminished thirst—before Skanda who listens and prepares to continue.
True devotion seeks repeated contemplation; sacred praise (māhātmya) deepens rather than exhausts spiritual longing.
Avimukteśa of Kāśī, whose māhātmya Agastya wishes to hear further.
Śravaṇa—devout listening to the Māhātmya—is implicitly upheld as a meritorious practice.
