व्याघ्रेणापहृतां पत्नीं वीक्ष्य विप्रोऽतिदुःखितः । रुरोद हा प्रिये बाले हा कांते हा पतिव्रते
vyāghreṇāpahṛtāṃ patnīṃ vīkṣya vipro'tiduḥkhitaḥ | ruroda hā priye bāle hā kāṃte hā pativrate
ببر کے ہاتھوں اپنی بیوی کو اٹھائے جاتے دیکھ کر برہمن سخت غمگین ہوا۔ وہ بلند آواز سے رو پڑا: “ہائے پیاری! ہائے معصوم! ہائے محبوبہ! ہائے پتिवرتا!”
