होता॑ यक्ष॒त्प्रचे॑तसा दे॒वाना॑मुत्त॒मं यशो॒ होता॑रा दैव्या क॒वी स॒युजेन्द्रं॑ वयो॒धस॑म् । जग॑तीं॒ छन्द॑ इन्द्रि॒यम॑न॒ड्वाहं॒ गां वयो॒ दध॑द्वी॒तामाज्य॑स्य॒ होत॒र्यज॑
hótā yákṣat-prácetasā devā́nām uttamáṃ yáśo hótārā daivyā́ kavī́ sayújéndraṃ vayódhasam | jagátīṃ chánda indríyam anaḍvā́haṃ gā́ṃ váyo dádhad vītā́m ā́jyasya hótar yája
Let the Hotṛ, with provident mind, do worship—(securing) for the Gods their highest glory; (let) the two divine Hotṛs, the sages, yoked together, (worship) Indra, the sustainer of vital power. The Jagatī is the metre, the ox is the vigour: let them, bestowing vital strength, win the cow;—O Hotṛ, sacrifice with ghee!
