It highlights the Shaiva Purana’s emphasis on dharma: mantra-japa and selfless dāna, when directed toward a disciplined and devout recipient, become powerful causes for upliftment and attainment of exalted realms.
Though it mentions Gāyatrī-japa and Viṣṇu-bhakti, the broader Shaiva context treats such Vedic discipline and devotion as supportive limbs of purity and bhakti that prepare the seeker for Saguna Shiva worship, including Linga-upāsanā.
Regular japa (specifically Gāyatrī-japa) and dāna (charitable giving) to worthy recipients are recommended; the verse implies that disciplined recitation and pure conduct amplify the spiritual fruit of offerings.
