Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Umāpati
Jyotirlinga: Viśvanātha
Sthala Purana: In the Viśveśvara/Viśvanātha milieu of Kāśī, Śiva is praised as granting liberation through even simple, properly ordered worship; the text’s emphasis on sequential upacāras aligns with Kāśī’s reputation as a mokṣa-kṣetra where Śiva bestows final grace.
Significance: Darśana and ordered worship (abhiṣeka → naivedya → namaskāra → tarpaṇa) are framed as direct means to Śivapada (mokṣa), highlighting grace (anugraha) responding to disciplined devotion.
Shakti Form: Pārvatī
Role: nurturing
Offering: naivedya
It teaches that sincere, capacity-based Śiva-worship—performed in an orderly way—purifies the devotee and leads toward Śiva-pada, the liberating attainment of union with the Lord’s grace.
Abhiṣeka and naivedya are classic acts of Liṅga-pūjā to Saguna Śiva; through these outer rites, devotion becomes steady and the mind is led toward the inner realization of Śiva as the supreme Pati.
Perform a simple daily sequence: abhiṣeka (water/milk as able), offer naivedya, do namaskāra with humility, and conclude with tarpaṇa—optionally accompanied by japa of the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya).
