Description of the Sages’ Inquiry

अदयाः पंडितं मन्यास्स्वाचारव्रतलोपकाः । कृष्युद्यमरताः क्रूरस्वभावा मलिनाशयाः

adayāḥ paṃḍitaṃ manyāssvācāravratalopakāḥ | kṛṣyudyamaratāḥ krūrasvabhāvā malināśayāḥ

وہ بےرحم ہیں، پھر بھی اپنے آپ کو عالم سمجھتے ہیں۔ نیک چلن اور ورتوں کو چھوڑ کر کھیتی اور دنیاوی مشقت میں ہی لگے رہتے ہیں؛ مزاجاً سخت اور باطن میں آلودہ ہیں۔
