Inquiry into Paśu, Pāśa, and Pati

The verse teaches that realizing Shiva’s mahimā (supreme greatness) dissolves grief and establishes the seeker in sukha—an indicator of inner release (moksha) where the soul rests in the Lord’s grace as Pati.
By stating that metres, yajñas, seasons, and time itself are grounded in Him, the verse supports Saguna worship (including Linga worship) as a concrete means to approach the transcendent Lord who pervades all ritual and cosmic order.
A practical takeaway is regular Shiva-upāsanā: recitation of Vedic hymns/metres with devotion, performance of Shiva-oriented yajña or pūjā, and steady japa of the Panchāksharī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) to move from sorrow to inner steadiness.
