ikṣvākau saṃsthite rājā vasiṣṭhavacanādabhūt | śakunipramukhāstasya putrāḥ pañcadaśa smṛtāḥ

جب اِکشواکو مستحکم ہوا تو وِسِشٹھ کے فرمان کے مطابق وہ بادشاہ بنا۔ اس کے پندرہ بیٹے یاد کیے جاتے ہیں جن میں شَکُنی سرفہرست تھا۔
