Account of the Twelve Jyotirliṅga Manifestations
ज्योतिर्लिंगं द्वितीयन्तद्दर्शनात्पूजनान्मुने । महासुखकरं चान्ते मुक्तिदन्नात्र संशयः
jyotirliṃgaṃ dvitīyantaddarśanātpūjanānmune | mahāsukhakaraṃ cānte muktidannātra saṃśayaḥ
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
Jyotirlinga: Mallikārjuna
Sthala Purana: Declared as the second Jyotirliṅga; the verse explicitly ties darśana and pūjā to mahā-sukha and final mukti, framing the kṣetra as a grace-channel.
Significance: Assures that both external worship (pūjā) and direct encounter (darśana) are efficacious—pāśa is loosened and the paśu is led toward Śiva’s liberating anugraha.
Type: stotra
Role: liberating
Offering: dipa
It declares that Jyotirliṅga darśana and pūjā are direct, grace-filled means to attain both worldly bliss and final liberation, emphasizing Shiva as Pati (the liberating Lord).
The Jyotirliṅga is Shiva’s accessible, saguna revelation as light; approaching it through darśana and worship is presented as a reliable path where Shiva’s anugraha (grace) culminates in mukti.
Perform Jyotirliṅga darśana with reverence and offer simple Liṅga-pūjā (water, bilva leaves, mantra such as Om Namaḥ Śivāya), holding the intent of surrender and liberation.
