FAQs

It presents Shiva as the supreme Pati who, while transcendent, willingly adopts a saguna role and follows dharmic procedure to restore cosmic order and fulfil the devas’ rightful aim.

By addressing Shiva as Maheśāna who performs a worldly rite, the verse supports saguna devotion—seeing the Linga and Shiva’s līlā as compassionate means for devotees and devas to attain protection and grace.

The takeaway is adherence to śāstra-vidhi in Shiva worship—performing pūjā and vows with proper procedure, supported by japa of “Om Namaḥ Śivāya” and disciplined observance (niyama).
