Yatinātha-līlā: Śiva’s Test of the Bhilla Devotees at Arbuda Mountain
त्वं सुता भीमराजस्य वैदर्भे नगरेऽनघे । दमयन्ती च विख्याता भविष्यसि गुणान्विता
tvaṃ sutā bhīmarājasya vaidarbhe nagare'naghe | damayantī ca vikhyātā bhaviṣyasi guṇānvitā
اے بے گناہ! ویدربھ کے شہر میں تُو راجا بھیم کی بیٹی ہوگی؛ اور اوصاف سے آراستہ ‘دمیَنتی’ کے نام سے مشہور ہوگی۔

The verse affirms that a pure soul’s destiny unfolds under divine ordinance: birth, name, and fame arise in alignment with dharma, showing how virtue (guṇa) becomes a vehicle for spiritual maturation under Śiva’s overarching order.
Though the verse is narrative and prophetic, it supports Saguna-Śiva’s role as the Lord who governs karma and worldly events; such accounts encourage devotion to Śiva as the compassionate regulator of fate who guides beings toward dharma.
The practical takeaway is cultivating inner purity and virtue alongside Śiva-bhakti—daily japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) and observance of dharmic conduct, which the Purāṇa repeatedly links with auspicious outcomes.
