Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Umāpati
Sthala Purana: Generic ‘Girīśa’ epithet evokes Kailāsa/Parvata-lord imagery rather than a specific jyotirliṅga; the verse functions as a mokṣa-phala statement for pūjā.
Significance: Promises Śāmbhava-pada (Śiva’s state) for devoted worship—paradigm for tīrtha-yātrā and temple pūjā leading to liberation by grace.
Type: stotra
Shakti Form: Pārvatī
Role: liberating
Offering: pushpa
It teaches that sincere bhakti and complete worship of Lord Śiva (Girīśa) can grant liberation—described here as attaining the Śāmbhava padam, the state/abode of Śiva.
The verse highlights devotion expressed through concrete worship (sampūjya), aligning with Saguna Śiva-upāsanā such as Linga worship, through which the devotee is led to the supreme goal of Śiva.
A takeaway is steady bhakti expressed as full pūjā to Śiva—commonly supported in the Purāṇa by japa of the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) and Śiva-pūjā disciplines like bhasma and rudrākṣa observances, performed with devotion.
