दृष्ट्वा सा तद्गतिं वेश्या महानन्दातिविस्मिता । अनुतापं च युवती प्रपेदे मुनिसत्तम
dṛṣṭvā sā tadgatiṃ veśyā mahānandātivismitā | anutāpaṃ ca yuvatī prapede munisattama
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Significance: Shows the pedagogic fruit of grace: witnessing a bhakta’s ‘gati’ triggers inner transformation (remorse leading toward dharma and devotion), a classic Siddhānta movement from pāśa-boundness toward receptivity to anugraha.
Type: stotra
Shakti Form: Pārvatī
Role: teaching
The verse highlights inner conversion: witnessing a soul’s elevated gati awakens both wonder and remorse, which in Shaiva Siddhanta becomes a doorway to purification and Shiva’s grace (anugraha).
Though the verse is narrative, it supports Saguna Shiva devotion: seeing the fruit of Shiva’s grace in another inspires repentance and renewed worship, the emotional ground for sincere Linga-upasana.
The implied takeaway is prāyaścitta with bhakti—mentally turning back to Shiva with humility, repeating the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) and adopting purifying disciplines such as bhasma/tripundra or Rudraksha as one’s vow, where appropriate.
