The verse praises disciplined, dharmic living—service to Agni, pañca-yajña, and constant right action—which purifies karma and steadies the mind, making one fit for Shiva-bhakti and grace (anugraha) in a Shaiva Siddhanta sense.
By honoring gods, ancestors, and guests through prescribed duties, the devotee sanctifies household life and offerings; this supports Saguna Shiva worship (including Linga-puja) because ritual purity, gratitude, and service are treated as limbs of devotion to Shiva.
Regular tending of sacred fire and daily pañca-yajña (worship/offerings, study, ancestor remembrance, hospitality, and care toward beings), carried out with a Shiva-oriented intention—ideally accompanied by japa of Om Namaḥ Śivāya where appropriate.
