संहाररूप-प्रादुर्भावः
Manifestation of Śiva’s Saṃhāra-Form
भिन्दन्नुरसि बाहुभ्यान्निजग्राह हरो हरिम् । ततो जगाम गगनन्देवैस्सह महर्षिभिः
bhindannurasi bāhubhyānnijagrāha haro harim | tato jagāma gaganandevaissaha maharṣibhiḥ
Suta Goswami (narrating to the sages of Naimisharanya)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Śarabheśvara
Role: destructive
It portrays Hara’s sovereign power to restrain even Hari, emphasizing that the Supreme Lord (Pati) governs all divine functions and restores dharma through His līlā and grace.
The verse highlights Saguna Shiva acting decisively in the cosmos; Linga-worship venerates that same supreme reality in an accessible form, reminding devotees that all powers ultimately rest in Śiva.
Contemplate Śiva as the supreme protector and restrainer of egoic power, and steady the mind with japa of the Pañcākṣarī mantra (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”), supported by Tripuṇḍra-bhasma and Rudrākṣa as aids to devotion and focus.
