FAQs

It warns against pride and spiritual forgetfulness: even powerful beings must remember past defeats and the law of karma, cultivating humility and right remembrance (smṛti), which supports bhakti and liberation under Pati (Śiva).

By highlighting the danger of arrogance and forgetfulness, it points the devotee back to steady Saguna Shiva worship—Linga-pūjā, mantra-japa, and surrender—which purify ego and align the soul (paśu) toward Śiva, the Lord (Pati).

A practical takeaway is daily Panchākṣarī japa (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) with self-examination and humility; on Mahāśivarātri, combine it with Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) application and confession/repentance to dissolve pride.
