Vīrabhadra and the Battle with the Devas
abhedyaṃ tacchiro matvā śastrāstraiśca tu sarvaśaḥ | kareṇa troṭayāmāsa padbhyāmākramya corasi

Shiva Form: Vīrabhadra
It teaches that the Supreme Lord (Pati), even when appearing in a manifest form, is not an object to be subdued by force; ego and aggression fail, while devotion and surrender align the soul (paśu) toward liberation.
The verse underscores that Shiva is not conquered through external power; in Linga and Saguna worship, the devotee approaches with reverence, mantra, and inner purity—recognizing Shiva as the inviolable Lord beyond worldly means.
The takeaway is to replace force with upāsanā: steady japa of the Panchākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) and humble offering (bhasma/tripuṇḍra and rudrākṣa where prescribed), cultivating surrender rather than confrontation.
