The Great Assembly at Prayāga: Śiva’s Appearance and Dakṣa’s Arrival
dṛṣṭvā śivaṃ surāssarve siddhāśca munayastathā | anamaṃstaṃ prabhuṃ bhaktyā tuṣṭuvuśca tathā hyaham
Sūta Gosvāmī
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Type: stotra
Offering: pushpa
The verse highlights that true response to Śiva-darśana is bhakti expressed through namaskāra and stuti—acknowledging Śiva as Pati (the Lord) whom even Devas and perfected beings revere, pointing the devotee toward grace-led upliftment.
It reflects Saguna-upāsanā: devotees approach the manifest Lord through reverent gestures (bowing) and praise. In practice, the same attitude is applied to Śiva-liṅga worship—darśana, namaskāra, and stotra as offerings of devotion.
A direct takeaway is to perform Śiva-namaskāra and recite Śiva-stuti after darśana; this can be paired with japa of the Pañcākṣarī mantra “Om Namaḥ Śivāya” as a devotional contemplation.
