Completion of the Nandā-vrata and Śiva’s Direct Appearance
putrasnehātkāryavaśādatha vā lokakāraka | mamāśramaṃ samāyāto hṛṣṭasya tava darśanāt
An ashrama-dwelling sage addressing a revered visitor (contextually inferred within Sati-khaṇḍa narration by Sūta Gosvāmin).
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
It highlights the sanctifying power of darśana (holy meeting): the devotee’s joy arises simply by seeing the revered being, teaching that grace and auspiciousness flow through sincere reverence, humility, and dharmic intention.
The verse reflects Saguna-oriented devotion—meeting, seeing, and honoring the divine or divine-like presence. In Linga worship, the same principle applies: approaching Shiva with bhakti and right purpose makes the act of darśana itself spiritually transformative.
Practice darśana-bhāva: begin worship by mentally welcoming Shiva, then offer a simple salutation while repeating the Pañcākṣarī mantra “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” cultivating inner joy and humility before any outer ritual.
