दक्षस्य प्रजावृद्ध्युपायः — Dakṣa’s Means for Increasing Progeny
काले गते बहुतरे मम पुत्रः प्रजापतिः । नाशं निशम्य पुत्राणां नारदादन्वतप्यत
kāle gate bahutare mama putraḥ prajāpatiḥ | nāśaṃ niśamya putrāṇāṃ nāradādanvatapyata
بہت زمانہ گزرنے کے بعد میرا بیٹا، پرجاپتی، نارَد سے اپنے بیٹوں کی ہلاکت کی خبر سن کر غم اور ندامت میں ڈوب گیا۔

Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
Cosmic Event: kāla-pravāha (passage of time)
It highlights kāla (time) and karmic consequence: worldly progeny and plans can end suddenly, and sorrow becomes a doorway to vairāgya (detachment) and a turn toward Pati (Lord Shiva) as the only enduring refuge.
The Prajāpati’s grief underscores the instability of creation; Shaiva tradition directs the mind from perishable effects to the stable support—Saguna Shiva worship (including Linga-upāsanā) that gradually leads the devotee toward the higher, transcendental reality of Shiva.
A practical takeaway is to convert grief into japa and remembrance—especially Panchākṣarī mantra japa ("Om Namaḥ Śivāya")—with simple Shiva-oriented disciplines like bhasma (Tripuṇḍra) and steady contemplation on impermanence.
