ययैव प्रेषितश्चाहं पापं कर्तुं समुद्यतः । आसं तच्छृणु देवेश वदामि तव शासनात्
yayaiva preṣitaścāhaṃ pāpaṃ kartuṃ samudyataḥ | āsaṃ tacchṛṇu deveśa vadāmi tava śāsanāt
اسی کے اُکسانے سے میں گناہ کرنے پر آمادہ ہو گیا تھا۔ اے دیویش، وہ بات سنو؛ میں صرف تمہارے حکم کی تعمیل میں کہہ رہا ہوں۔

The address “Deveśa” reflects approaching Śiva as the accessible Saguna Lord who governs dharma and grants correction; in Linga-worship, devotees similarly place their actions under Śiva’s śāsana (divine order) and seek cleansing from faults.
A practical takeaway is śivārpaṇa-bhāva (offering one’s speech and actions to Śiva): confess faults before the Linga, recite the Pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” and pray for restraint from pāpa and steadiness in dharma.
