Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Naṭarāja
Significance: Directs communal liturgical use: recitation during Śiva-utsavas sustains dharma and collective devotion, pleasing Śiva and stabilizing auspiciousness in the community.
Type: stotra
Offering: pushpa
It teaches that sincere recitation during Śiva’s sacred observances, done with prīti (loving devotion) and the wish for śubha (auspiciousness), directly becomes a means to please Pati (Śiva), strengthening bhakti and purifying the devotee.
Śiva-utsava worship is typically centered on Saguna Śiva as the Liṅga; this verse emphasizes that along with ārādhana, śravaṇa–pāṭha (hearing/recitation) is an offering that delights Śiva and supports focused devotion to the Liṅga.
Regular pāṭha (devotional recitation) during Śiva festivals—especially alongside common Shaiva observances like mantra-japa (e.g., Pañcākṣarī), vibhūti (tripuṇḍra) wearing, and pūjā—performed with heartfelt prīti.
