Sūta Gosvāmin (narrating to the sages of Naimiṣāraṇya)
Tattva Level: pashu
Significance: Models dhārmic social order (ācāra) as a preparatory purity (śuddhi) that makes the community fit for Śiva’s presence and grace.
Role: nurturing
It shows that auspiciousness around Śiva–Pārvatī is upheld by dharma: when conduct becomes disciplined and people are honored appropriately, collective joy and sattvic उत्साह naturally arise—supporting devotion and inner purification.
In Saguna Śiva worship, reverence (ādara) and proper ācāra are part of pūjā-bhāva. The verse highlights that honoring devotees and maintaining decorum are themselves expressions of respect to Śiva’s manifest presence and His śakti (Pārvatī).
Adopt śauca and sadācāra before worship—begin with respectful conduct, then perform simple Śiva-upāsanā such as japa of the Pañcākṣarī ("oṃ namaḥ śivāya") with a calm, joyful mind.
