The verse highlights inner assent and auspicious joy: when righteous counsel is heard, the heart naturally becomes serene and receptive—an essential mood for Śiva-bhakti and for the unfolding of divine destiny in the Pārvatī narrative.
Though the liṅga is not named here, the scene supports Saguna-Śiva devotion: Pārvatī’s inward smile signals her heart’s orientation toward Śiva as the personal Lord (Pati), a prerequisite for later tapas and worship that culminate in union with Śiva.
The takeaway is śravaṇa (reverent listening) leading to inner prasāda (clarity). Practically, one may pair attentive listening/recitation of Śiva Purāṇa with japa of the Pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya” to cultivate the same inward auspiciousness.
