पार्वतीवाक्यं—शिवस्य परब्रह्मत्व-निरूपणम्
Pārvatī’s Discourse: Establishing Śiva as Parabrahman
शिवविद्वेषिणं दृष्ट्वा सचेलं स्नानमाचरेत् । शिवविद्वेषिणं दृष्ट्वा प्रायश्चितं समाचरेत्
śivavidveṣiṇaṃ dṛṣṭvā sacelaṃ snānamācaret | śivavidveṣiṇaṃ dṛṣṭvā prāyaścitaṃ samācaret
شِو کے دشمن کو دیکھ کر کپڑوں سمیت غسل کرنا چاہیے؛ اور شِو کے دشمن کو دیکھ کر باقاعدہ طور پر پرायَشچِت بھی کرنا چاہیے۔
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pasha
Shiva Form: Paśupatinātha
Significance: Teaches boundary-maintenance for bhakti: avoiding contamination of mind by dveṣa toward Śiva and restoring purity through snāna and prāyaścitta.
It teaches that contact with Śiva-nindā (hostility toward Śiva) is spiritually polluting, so the devotee should immediately restore inner and outer purity through ritual bathing and expiation, protecting bhakti and reverence toward Pati (Śiva).
Linga-worship is grounded in śraddhā and śuddhi; the verse warns that seeing a Śiva-hater can disturb devotional purity, so one should purify oneself before resuming acts like darśana, arcana, and japa to Saguna Śiva in the form of the Linga.
It prescribes sacela-snāna (a clothed purificatory bath) and prāyaścitta; as a practical takeaway, one may also reaffirm devotion with Panchākṣarī japa (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) and maintain Śiva-bhakti with a purified mind.
