सत्यप्रतिज्ञा-तपःसंवादः
Pārvatī’s Vow of Truth and the Dialogue on Her Tapas
वेणी शिरसि ते दिव्या सर्पिणीव विभासिता । जटाजूटं शिवस्येव प्रसिद्धम्परिचक्षते
veṇī śirasi te divyā sarpiṇīva vibhāsitā | jaṭājūṭaṃ śivasyeva prasiddhamparicakṣate
تمہارے سر پر تمہاری دیویہ وینی سانپنی کی طرح چمکتی ہے؛ لوگ اسے خود بھگوان شِو کی جٹاجوٹ کی مانند مشہور کہہ کر بیان کرتے ہیں۔
Sūta Gosvāmī (narrating the Purāṇic account to the sages, describing Pārvatī’s divine form)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Umāpati
The verse uses sacred iconography to reveal Pārvatī’s divinity: her radiant braid is compared to a serpent and to Śiva’s famed matted locks, indicating her inseparable unity with Śiva (Śakti–Śiva) and the auspicious power that protects and illumines devotees.
It supports Saguna worship by sanctifying recognizable divine attributes (Śiva’s jaṭā, the serpent motif). Such forms steady devotion and contemplation, ultimately leading the devotee toward the supreme reality (Pati) beyond form, as taught in Śaiva Siddhānta.
A simple dhyāna is implied: meditate on Śiva’s jaṭā and the serpent symbolism as protective, luminous power, while repeating the Pañcākṣarī mantra “Om Namaḥ Śivāya” to internalize Śiva–Śakti unity.
