It highlights vairāgya (dispassion): after receiving right instruction, the seekers abandon dependence on worldly shelter and adopt simplicity and restraint, aligning life toward Shiva-realization and liberation.
By turning away from possessiveness and comfort, the mind becomes fit for steady devotion (bhakti) to Saguna Shiva—often expressed through Linga-worship—where inner purity and surrender are considered more essential than social status or residence.
A practical takeaway is to live simply, practice charity (anna-dāna), and maintain daily Shiva-smaraṇa with japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”), supported by disciplines like bhasma/Tripuṇḍra and Rudrākṣa where appropriate.
