Pārvatī’s Fear and Himavān’s Consolation
एवं सा पार्वती शंभुविरहोत्क्लिष्टमानसा । सुखं न लेभे किंचिद्राऽब्रवीच्छिवशिवेति च
evaṃ sā pārvatī śaṃbhuvirahotkliṣṭamānasā | sukhaṃ na lebhe kiṃcidrā'bravīcchivaśiveti ca
یوں شَمبھو (شیو) کی جدائی سے دل گرفتہ پاروتی کو ذرا بھی سکون نہ ملا؛ وہ مسلسل “شیو، شیو” ہی کہتی رہی۔

It presents viraha-bhakti—devotion intensified by separation—where the mind, unable to rest in worldly comfort, naturally clings to Śiva’s name; such one-pointed remembrance is a purifier and a direct means toward Śiva-sāyujya (nearness/union) in Shaiva understanding.
Pārvatī’s repeated “Śiva, Śiva” is Saguna-upāsanā through nāma (the Lord’s name). In temple or home worship, this same bhāva is expressed by japa while offering to the Śiva-liṅga, focusing the heart on Śambhu as the compassionate, accessible Lord.
Continuous nāma-japa—repeating “Śiva” (and traditionally the Pañcākṣarī, Om Namaḥ Śivāya)—as a steady practice, ideally with rudrākṣa mālā and a calm, devotional focus.
