Spring’s Influence and the Arousal of Kāma
mānināṃ preraṇāyāsīttatkāle kāladīpikā | mārutaśca sukhaḥ sādho vavau virahiṇo'priyaḥ

It shows how Kāla (time), operating under Shiva’s sovereignty, ripens inner states: what is comfort to the ordinary mind becomes a spur to deeper bhakti for one burning in longing—turning emotion into a force that drives the soul toward divine union.
In Saguna worship, the devotee relates to Shiva personally; viraha intensifies remembrance. The verse implies that external nature (like wind) mirrors inner devotion, pushing the devotee to seek Shiva more firmly through Linga-darśana, pūjā, and constant smaraṇa.
Channel the restlessness of longing into japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) with steady breath-awareness; optionally support it with Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) and Rudrākṣa as aids to focused remembrance of Shiva.
